“Hyde Park Resident” is way too simple to describe Mr. George Rumsey.

Rumsey has actively pushed for equal access to education, housing, social services, and quality of life in the 5th Ward and beyond. The Hyde Park community is fortunate to have Mr. Rumsey’s tireless dedication, advocacy, and leadership.

On July 20, 2022, Alderman Leslie Hairston (5th Ward), signed a Chicago City Council Resolution recognizing George Rumsey’s contributions to Chicago’s community and shared the good news in a recent newsletter.

Rumsey has a long list of experiences in service, including his current tenure as an SSA61 Commissioner. Congratulations to Mr. George Rumsey. This was a well-deserved acknowledgement by the City.
