DESCRIPTION:The annual autumn Bulb and Mum Sale takes place on Saturday\, September 21\, 2024 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. It focuses on two main offerings: bulbs for colorful spring bloom and chrysanthemums for autumn color. The huge variety of bulbs are divided into 4 departments: Daffodils\, Tulips\, Crocuses & Hyacinths\, and Specialty Bulbs (including aliums and irises).  \nThis year\, we’re pleased to also offer a limited selection of native plants\, being provided by some of our members from their own yards. These include plants that prefer autumn planting rather than spring\, just as Green Dragon (Arisaema dracontium). \nBut this sale isn’t limited to just bulbs. Most years\, we manage to offer a variety of house plants\, especially those that are easy to care for. We also try to provide an eclectic mix of perennials that can be planted in the fall (such as anemones\, peonies\, irises\, and grasses) and colorful autumn ornamentals such as colorful varieties of kale\, cabbage\, and peppers. \nBe sure to check out our NEW location in Kimbark Plaza (53rd and Kimbark)\, between CVS and Hyde Park Produce! \n

Since picking up the trumpet at age 7\, his artistry has allowed him the opportunity to perform in all corners of North America as well as overseas. \nFrom maintaining years of performance residencies\, curating special events throughout the city\, and serving as a booking manager at multiple venues and spaces\, Sam Thousand has become a fixture in Chicago’s performing arts scene. He’s been a full-time artist & curator since 2014. He is co-founder of the Chicago-based arts organization ChiBrations\, and is a business owner and entrepreneur. DESCRIPTION:  \nThe 2024 Harper Court Summer Music Series. \nOn Thursday\, June 6 the music series kicks off with DJ Eric “ET” Taylor from V103 featuring\nthe 🏆️ 1st Annual Hyde Park Best Steppers Contest 🏆️.  First\, second and third place winners will be recognized. \nA 45-year veteran of the DJ game\, Eric started his career 1979 playing house music at most of the venues in the Chicagoland area. In 1994 Eric was introduced to stepping music before it was mainstream\, and since then he has played at steppers venues in Chicago and across the country. In 2010 Eric was selected to be a member of the elite V103 mix squad.
